3 Healthy Morning Habits


Mornings are the most powerful time of the day. Each day you wake up, you have a decision to say "YES" to your body and to your life. I get that we all have busy schedules, but allowing yourself some time in the morning, can give you that self care & love you deserve. 

Here are my top three ways you can show your mind & body love to start your day off feeling fresh.

1. Mindful Movement: 

Giving your body time to check in with your thoughts as they progress through the movement you are engaging in. This style of movement can be anything; walking, jogging, stretching or even meditating. An example of mindful movement; when you are walking. Do your shoulders start to round forward? Do you feel your neck get tense? Becoming more aware of how you perform your daily activities will help you navigate through your day in a more calm and relaxed state of mind. 

My favorite benefit of mindful movement is that I am able to live and enjoy the present moment. My thoughts can focus on one specific task, making sure I am fully engaged and aware of what I am doing.

2. Sunshine:

Get up, get outside and soak up some sun!

Sunshine is a great source of Vitamin D, feeding our joints with calcium, allowing them to get stronger. Exposure to sunlight in the morning can increase the brain's release of a hormone called serotonin. This hormone improves your mood and allows your mind to be relaxed & energized. 

Every morning, I wake up and go out for a jog, generating proper blood flow to my mind and body. These 30-minutes give me my time to wake up and prepare myself for a productive rest of the day. 

3. Hydration:

Drinking water in the morning is essential for our joints, mind and muscles. Water transports nutrients to our cells, increases proper blood flow and delivers oxygen to our mind & body. 

When we sleep, our muscles become dehydrated, making our bodies feel tired or slow in the morning. Drinking water is an excellent way to boost your body and keep your joints feeling durable throughout the day.

Try these 3 healthy habits tomorrow morning and let's start off the day strong!
